GloriaFood is shutting down: what restaurants should do now

For years GloriaFood was the easy answer for restaurants that wanted an order button on their own website without paying commission. Now Oracle is winding it down. If your online orders run through GloriaFood, you have time – but not unlimited time. Here is a calm plan for the switch.

What is happening to GloriaFood?

GloriaFood was bought by Oracle in 2021. Since early 2025 it no longer accepts new sign-ups, and the product isn't being developed further. Operators report that Oracle has set the end of service for spring 2027 – most sources name 30 April 2027 as the last day. When the service ends, the hosted ordering pages and the order buttons embedded on restaurant websites stop working.

The exact date and your export options are in the notices inside your GloriaFood account. Check them – they are the only official source for your account.

The good news: you don't have to rush. The bad news: restaurants that leave it until the last weeks tend to switch in a hurry, in their busiest season, with old QR codes and flyers still pointing at a dead link.

The switch plan: six steps

1. Write down where your GloriaFood links live

Before you change anything, make a list of every place a guest can reach your ordering today:

  • the order button on your website (and every page it appears on)
  • the link in your Google Business Profile ("Order online")
  • your Instagram and Facebook bio
  • QR codes on flyers, table stands, menus and delivery bags
  • links in WhatsApp status, newsletters and on the receipt

This list is your to-do list for step 5. The QR codes on printed material are the ones people forget.

2. Save your data

Export or copy what you can while the account still works: your menu with prices, sizes and add-ons, your opening hours and delivery zones, and – if you've collected guest e-mails with consent – your guest list. Even a few screenshots of your menu settings save time later.

3. Pick a replacement (checklist below)

Don't pick only on price. Read the checklist in the next section and take the one that fits how you actually work.

4. Run both side by side for a week or two

Set up the new system, enter your menu, and test it: place an order yourself, as a guest would, on your phone. Check the delivery area, minimum order, opening hours and that the order really reaches your kitchen. Ask a regular to place a test order.

5. Switch every link in one go

Work through your list from step 1: website button, Google profile, social bios, then new QR codes. Order the reprinted flyers and table stands before the switch day.

6. Tell your regulars

A short note on the receipt, a post on Instagram and a sign at the counter: "We have a new ordering page – same food, same prices." People don't mind a new page; they mind a link that suddenly doesn't work.

What to look for in a GloriaFood alternative

GloriaFood was popular for a reason: no commission, an order button on your own website, and a free basic plan. A good replacement should keep the first two. Check:

  1. Commission. Is it 0 %, or a percentage per order? A small percentage adds up quickly – see what commission costs over a year.
  2. Your own website. Can you put an order button or your whole menu on your existing site? Is there a WordPress plugin, and does it update itself?
  3. Pickup and delivery with your own delivery area, fees and minimum order.
  4. Payment methods. Which ones are offered today, not "soon"?
  5. How orders reach you. A tablet, an app with sound and push messages, a printer?
  6. More than ordering. Table reservations, a QR table menu, a POS – or would you need extra tools?
  7. Languages for your guests and staff.
  8. Contract. Monthly notice period? What do you get back if you leave?
  9. Privacy. Does the widget load fonts or trackers from third parties without consent? For restaurants in the EU this matters.

How Eatzino covers it

Eatzino is our own ordering system, so take this part as what it is – a description of our product. We built the website widget to work the way GloriaFood users are used to:

  • 0 % commission, a fixed monthly price (from €79, plus VAT).
  • An order button for any website: a floating button, any button of your own, or your full menu inside a page. On WordPress via our plugin with shortcodes, blocks and Elementor widgets – it updates itself. Everywhere else with one line of code.
  • A check for your website. In the partner dashboard you enter your web address and see whether the button is installed and connected to your restaurant.
  • Table reservations in the same widget, a QR table menu, a POS and a partner app with sound and push messages for new orders.
  • German and English, no Google Fonts or third-party trackers in the widget.

What we don't offer yet: online card payment (guests pay cash on delivery or at pickup – card payment is in preparation) and a courier service (you deliver with your own drivers and our free driver app). If your GloriaFood setup relies on online card payment, keep that in mind.

Questions and answers

When does GloriaFood shut down?

Most sources name 30 April 2027 as the end of service. New sign-ups closed in early 2025. The notices in your own GloriaFood account are the official source for your dates.

Will my GloriaFood order button keep working until then?

According to the shutdown communication existing accounts keep working until the end date. After that, hosted pages and embedded buttons stop working.

Is there a free GloriaFood alternative?

Free plans usually make their money elsewhere – through a commission, payment fees or paid add-ons. Compare the total cost per month at your order volume, not only the headline price.

Can I move my GloriaFood menu to Eatzino?

There is no automatic import, but during setup we help you enter your menu. Our packages include setup, menu upload and training.
